CWMBRAN CELTIC 1 AFAN LIDO 4
Afan Lido are without doubt Celtic’s bogey side, following up 3 successive 5 goal victories with a 4-1 win at Celtic Park. Lido took the lead on 10 minutes when the unchallenged Keen scored. On 44 minutes McCreesh split the Celtic defence wide open for Thomas to run in and lob the keeper – yet another goal conceded on the stroke of half-time. The introduction of Lewis Iles put some oomph into the Celtic attack and Celtic reduced the lead through a free kick pile driver on 54 minutes by Alex Bonthron. However Lido made the game safe in the last quarter with tap ins for their substitutes, Webber and 16 year old Ieuan Owen, courtesy of two individual errors in the Celtic defence. This defeat stretched Celtic’s run without a league win to 6 games. Rhys Wilkins came off the bench to make his Celtic debut.
