Match Report
Celtic visited Ystrad Mynach for the 2nd consecutive week with a number of key players unavailable including goalkeeper Alex Cridland.
Step up temporary ‘have a go’ Development centre forward Teagan Eley who performed with great confidence throughout the 1st half.
The game was finely balanced with Cascade having a lot of possession but were unable to pierce the robust Celtic back 4 while Celtic always looked dangerous on the counter attack.
H/T 0-0
With Teagan sustaining an injury Kristina Josicova came off the bench for the 2nd half and put on the gloves and again proved to be very capable between the sticks.
Chances were coming to both teams and eventually the deadlock was broken on 68 minutes when former Celtic player Lauren Boyd rose highest to meet a corner and headed into the net.
Celtic continued to press and went close on a number of occasions.
With time running out Jade Crofts went through on goal but hit the upright.
Then with Celtic throwing caution to the wind and in the 6th minute of injury time Jade was again put through and this time made no mistake (the reverse of what happened last week)
F/T 1-1
A great solid performance by the ladies today who seem to be improving with every game
Celtic stay 3rd in the league with three matches left
