Match Report
Cambrian is always a tough place to get a win – Celtic had only managed it twice before in 10 games over 17 years so yesterday’s success brought great delight to clan Celtic. The victory was even more impressive given there were 5 changes in the starting line-up from last week. Celtic gave starts to youngsters goalkeeper Josh Winstone and defender Harrison Lewis and both excelled with calm accomplished performances. Winnie topped off his man of the match display with a superb save diving to his right from Ceri Morgan’s penalty on 39 minute – justice done for a dubious hand ball decision.
Lewis Iles gave Celtic the lead on 46 minutes with his 20th goal of the season – a header at the near post from Tom Meechan’s corner – Tom’s 10th assist of the season. Meechan added the second on 71 minutes taking advantage of keeper Davies fumbling an Iles header allowing Tom to tap in.
This win keeps Celtic in 8th place and, barring an extremely unlikely calamity, guarantees the team a 4th season in the 2nd tier Cymru South.
