The Football Club has signed a Collaboration Agreement with Coleg Gwent to become their partner in their Football Excellence Programme (FEP). The Agreement is for an initial period of three years but both parties are planning on this being a long-term arrangement.
The FEP will be offered to students, irrespective of gender, as part of their Vocational studies. It will include two hours coaching per week and the opportunity to play for the College’s Competitive teams.
Students on the Programme may be recommended to the Football Club who will guarantee them an opportunity to take part in their Senior Coaching sessions. Hopefully, this will result in some of them stepping up to play in the club’s Cymru (South) or Genero Adran (South) teams, both of which currently operate at Tier 2 level in the FAW’s Pyramid system
The Agreement was signed by Nicola Gamlin, Principal of Coleg Gwent and Malcolm Jarrett, Celtic’s Project Manager.
